Hard to belipieeve that Thanksgiving will be here in a couple of weeks. This year seems to have flown by and there is certainly a lot to be grateful for. I love the Thanksgiving Holiday, but every year, I try to challenge myself to extend it just a little bit more.
What I mean is that I dare myself to remember that EVERY day is an opportunity to celebrate being alive. It’s not always easy to really be present to that. Like many others, I get busy before I take the time to get grounded in the Truth of my being some days. That usually leaves me feeling pretty frazzled by the end of the day. But when I start with some prayer and meditation, some gratitude — my day tends to not only go more smoothly, but I have more to give at the end of it.
All of us have our challenges, right? But no matter what your circumstances may look like right now, you’re reading this email on  some kind of device that connects you to the Internet and if you’re on this list, that means you are likely interested in music and healing and some of the more positive aspects of life. I’d say most human beings are looking to improve at least some area of their lives, but that’s part of why we’re here, and in fact, that sense of things never being quite complete is what draws life through us. It’s what causes us to get up in the morning. The trick is to focus more on the positive aspects than on the ones that make you unhappy. When you tip the scales more in favor of appreciation and love than in fear and anger, you’ll find that things have a way of looking pretty rosey, in fact.
So I hope that wherever you are in life and whatever is going on today that you will take a breath and take a moment to count your blessings. You may be pleasantly surprised how many you really have. Who says you have to wait to Thanksgiving to start?
